Getting To and From Dubai Airport — Taxi, Metro and Bus Options
Taxi fare, metro timing, and bus options at Dubai International Airport
Dubai Airport Taxi Fare
The Dubai Airport taxi fare starts at AED 25 with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC), plus a distance-based charge for the rest of your journey. DTC taxis are available 24/7 at designated ranks in Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3.
Ride-hailing apps including Uber, Careem, and Bolt are also available at all terminals — book your ride in the app and follow the terminal signage to your assigned pickup point.
Dubai Airport Metro
The Dubai Metro Red Line connects directly to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 does not have a metro station — use a taxi or bus to connect from there.
| Day | Dubai Airport Metro Timing |
|---|---|
| Monday – Thursday | 5:00 AM – Midnight |
| Friday | 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM (next day) |
| Saturday | 5:00 AM – Midnight |
| Sunday | 8:00 AM – Midnight |
Check the timetable above for the last metro today before relying on it late at night. Tickets and Nol Cards (Gold and Silver) are sold at ticket offices and vending machines in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. You can travel with up to two pieces of luggage, including hand luggage.
Dubai Airport Bus & Shuttle
RTA public buses serve all three terminals, connecting DXB to Dubai’s wider bus network — useful if you’re not near a metro station or travelling outside metro operating hours.
For Al Maktoum International (DWC), a separate airport at Dubai World Central, take an RTA bus or taxi from Ibn Battuta or Expo 2020 Metro Station, or plan your route with the RTA’s S’hail app.
Car Rental
Car rental counters are available at all three terminals.
